Happy 4th of July & Happy Anniversary FITMONTCLAIR!! July 4, 2010

Hi Everyone,

Happy 4th of July!! 

One year ago today I launched the FITMONTCLAIR blog as a means to get out accurate & truthful information on fitness, nutrition, and health  to Montclair and the surrounding towns. I had no idea of what to expect and even if anyone would be interested! Over the last year our readership has grown by over 500% from the first month and we are now currently read in at least 3 other countries as well!!!

What really surprised me was that there were no negative replies, comments or e-mails and people actually look forward to new posts and information. The most popular post over the last year was:

Since my last post I have been working overtime to prepare my presentation for FITCOMXPO IIThis is going to be an incredible event with 100 of the top fitness professionals in the world participating! I have also been working on several new magazine articles as well as articles for the Town Medical Newsletter.  My latest article for the Town Medical Newsletter was recently published- The Myth of Aerobic Exercise Part 2 -” Why we need more Sprinting & Weight-lifting and less jogging!” The article picks up right where Part 1 left off and covers everything I promised (and then some!): Why endurance training DECREASES strength & Performance, How to determine your CORRECT Target heart rate zone, How aerobics lead to severe orthopedic problems; especially in WOMEN and MUCH, MUCH more!

As I promised, this month there will be several special events and FREE giveaways to regular blog readers. The first of which will occur later this week. My new 4 week training class Back to Basics: Fundamentals of Training & Conditioning has been delayed because of FITCOMXPO II but it will still  happen later this month – details coming soon!
